Re-Imagine University ·

The World Talks About Universities .. Universities Rarely Talk Together!

Everywhere you look, universities are being discussed.

By governments. By markets. By technology companies. By ranking agencies. By media. By consultants. By platforms they do not own.

Everyone seems to have an opinion about what the university should become, except the universities, collectively.

We have more than 35,000 universities worldwide. Over 260 million students. Millions of academics, researchers, and staff. One of the largest intellectual forces humanity has ever built.

And yet, when global decisions are shaped, when futures are imagined, when narratives are written; the university speaks in fragments.

Individually strong. Collectively silent. This silence is not neutrality. It is not humility. It is not wisdom. It is absence.

And in a world that does not wait, absence is quickly replaced, by voices that do not carry the university’s mission, values, or long-term responsibility.

The question is no longer whether universities matter.

The question is whether universities are willing to matter together.

Not tomorrow. Not eventually. Not when forced.

But now.
