Wisdom … Forgotten ·

Wednesday May Change Everything, We hope!

Prof. Bassem K. Khafagy and Dr. Christopher Washington · 2 min read

For universities. For leaders. For those who dare to ask what comes next. It begins March 4th.

Last week, we introduced our upcoming Linkedin Newsletter, “Wisdom … Forgotten.” We described a memory problem that has quietly shaped how some universities are led, designed, and debated. We talked about six decades of scholarship (1965-2025) that diagnosed, with precision, the very pressures institutions are struggling with today.

We invited you to join us. Many of you did. So far, 1500+ so did. Thank you all for the trust and support. Many also asked the same question: When do we begin?

The answer is this coming week, Wednesday, March 4th, 2026

Every Wednesday, Christopher Washington, Ph.D. and Prof. Bassem Khafagy will each bring one book to the conversation. Not to review it. Not to celebrate it. But to ask what it still demands of us, and what it would mean to finally act on what it knew. The search for Wisdom … Forgotten .. is underway.

The books we are recovering span six decades. Some were celebrated in their time and quietly forgotten. Some were read widely but never fully applied. Some warned of exactly what we are now living through.

All of them contain wisdom that some institutions absorbed as language and set aside as practice. That gap, between what we learned and what we built, is where this newsletter lives.

Each Wednesday edition will give you two lenses on the same urgent question: What should the university of the future become? Two scholars. Two books. One shared conviction that the future does not begin by discarding the past.

The Future begins by recovering what the past understood with clarity we have not yet matched.

This list of books should not belong to two people alone. If a book shaped how you think about universities, recommend it.

Make the case. We are listening. The best recommendations will come from those who have lived inside these questions.

We are not writing for those who are satisfied with the university as it is. We are writing for those who believe it can become something more honest, more purposeful, and more worthy of the trust placed in it.

If that is you, Wednesday is yours.
